We wish you a warm welcome to the 45th edition of Lundaspelen Handball! This year we are proud to welcome over 800 teams from 17 nations and referees from even more nations.

We wish you a pleasant and unforgettable stay in Lund. We are delighted that ‘Lundaspelen’ is visited by so many young handball players from all over the world every year. We hope that your journeys to and from the games go well. This year, a record number of teams will participate in the tournament and we are proud the sport and the games keep growing.

LUGI handball club is hosting the tournament and this year we are proud to expand our collaboration with more sports clubs in the local area by playing in more sports halls while having the accommodation centered in and near Lund. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all!

CHECK-IN, REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION

Check-in for Lundaspelen takes place in the registration system via the link previously sent to your e-mail. The check-in is to verify that your contact details are correct and that you have registered all players and completed all payments. The last date to check in is 23 December.

When you arrive at your school accomodation/hotel, your check-in will be checked by the hosts at your accommodation and you will receive your physical travel cards. The hosts will check your cup pass and ensure that the team name and number of participants are correct. We can only guarantee that the allocated space is sufficient for the registered players and we reserve the right to refuse space to more participants than what was registered for classroom accommodation.

You will have access to your accommodation from 15.00 on 26 December. Our hosts are there for your safety and to help you and your team. They are the official representatives of Lundaspelen and their instructions should always be followed.

When you check out of your school rooms on 30 December, it is the responsibility of each team to clean and restore them to the condition they were in when you arrived. Please take a photo of the room when you arrive to help restore it to the same condition

CUP-PASS

Lundaspelen uses digital cup passes (Lundaspeletskortet), a QR code that can be displayed by all overnight participants. The code is used as mention upn check in AND to be shown and scanned it the cafeterias where you eat.
– All leaders must have downloaded your QR code, which is attached to this mailing and can also be accessed by logging in to your team page via Lundaspelens website.
– If you choose not to eat together, you can share the QR code with the participants or other leaders by texting a link or screenshot or print it on paper.
– Extra cup passes can be purchased at Lundaspelens Infocentre in Sparbanken Skåne Arena on 26/12 between 15-20 for 1400SEK.

SECURITY

Since November 1, 2023, the Swedish Police Authority has issued a decision to ban all bags at major events in Sweden. For information from the Swedish Police Authority, check the website for the latest updates. https://polisen.se/en/laws-and-regulations/bag-ban-at-major-events/

For Lundaspelen, there is a bag ban in Sparbanken Skåne Arena during the opening ceremony on 26/12, at the elite matches on 28/12, 29/12 and during the finals on 30/12:
– Only players of the teams that will play in the arena on the specified days may bring their training bags in.
– For spectators, no bags of any size may be taken into the hall.
– Exceptions are medical bags for those with medical needs, changing bags and smaller camera bags

Please leave your bag “at home” and keep your belongings in your pockets. We will have staff in the entrances for control.

GAME SCHEDULE

The game schedule can be found in the Lundaspelen app or at www.lundaspelen.com . It is each team’s own responsibility to stay updated on any changes! Changes to the schedule will happen continuously due to retired teams or other.

LUNDASPELEN SHOP

You will find our own Shop in the entrance of Sparbanken Skåne where we sell this year’s range of Lundaspelen merch, incl. this year’s t-shirt. Here you can customise your shirt with a personal name print.
The pre-ordered webshop orders are waiting for you at your school or hotel. If you are not in any of the Lundaspelen accommodations, these are collected in the shop.

PAYMENTS AND CURRENCY AT LUNDASPELEN

Sweden is aiming to be a cash-free society. This means that the majority of places are unfortunately not accepting cash payments, but you can use bank cards, debit or credit or if you have the Swedish app Swish for payment. The currency in Sweden is Swedish Krona, SEK and this is the only accepted currency in our cafeterias and shops during the games. No other currency will be accepted. Please make sure you bring the correct currency or your card to our cafes and the Lundaspelen Shop.

OPENING CEREMONY

The opening ceremony will be held in Sparbanken Skåne Arena on 26 December at 20.00. Free admission. The foyer will be open during the evening from 18.00, the doors in to the hall will open at 19.00. The opening ceremony starts with a big show with a flag parade and concert and then goes straight into two high-octane opening matches, with the first start at about 20.50. First come, first served!

On the opening day, 26 December, there are a lot of people coming to Sparbanken Skåne Arena. Arrive in time to secure your spot. Once the arena is full, someone must leave before someone new is let in. If full, please feel free to watch the streaming of the opening ceremony.

For security reasons, no luggage or bags of any size will be taken into the arena, leave them at home or at your check in accommodation. Keep your belongings in your pockets only. Please respect the instructions from the security guards.

LUNDASPELEN CODE OF CONDUCT

It is equally important that you, as a participant and audience, follow our Code of Conduct. Both on and off the pitch, against other participants, volunteers and judges. You, as a participant, must always follow this, and you, as a team leader, are responsible for your team’s behaviour according to the code of conduct. Note that you must not disturb players or referees during matches and use any form of chanting, noise or other psyching. If the code is not followed, matches may be suspended in consultation with the competition management.

LIVE SCORING

During Lundaspelen most matches can be followed in real-time via the live score on the website and in the app. Please note that the match time on the live score is a rolling clock based on the start time of the match and does not work from the official clock in the hall.

WEB STREAMING OF THE MATCHES DURING LUNDASPELEN

During Lundaspelen, all matches (apart from Mini-handball) will be able to be followed via live streaming for a fee (pay-per-view). LIST OF PARTICIPANTS

Before your first match, a complete list of participants must be registered by logging in to your account at https://www.lundaspelen.com/en/home/ By doing this, you also enable followers to see the name of who scores if you follow the live score during the match. You can not hand over a handwritten note on the day to the secretariat.
If you need to add a new player during the tournament, you do it by logging in to the website.
PLEASE NOTE-If the correct list of participants is missing, your team may be excluded according to the competition regulations § 7.

Heddaskolan: 17.00 – 21.00
Polhemsskolan: 17.00 – 22.00

Opening hours for the canteens December 27– 28
Breakfast: 06.30-09.00, (also 30/12)
Lunch: 11.30 – 14.15
Dinner: 17.00-20.30 (Polhemsskolan is open: 17.00-21.30.)

These opening hours must be respected or Lundaspelen cannot guarantee the serving of food. Please note that we do not have the opportunity to deliver food to sports halls and different accommodations. Make sure you go to your assigned canteen to eat.

Smarter breakfast
During the first half hour, there are rarely many guests at any canteen. Early birds usually mean a more pleasant breakfast time without waiting in lines to enter the canteen and without crowding at tables and serving trolleys.

Takeaway food
If your game schedule does not allow you to reach your assigned canteen during opening hours, it is possible to order cold food in advance to take away. Please note that it is only challenges in your own team’s game schedule that entitles you to order takeaway food, and you are responsible for picking up the food at Heddaskolan (left side of the building if you are facing the mane entrance). Follow the signs.
It is not possible to have the food delivered to any sports hall, and the amount of portions is limited.

DAY OF THE FINALS

On the final day, 30 December, many people will want to watch the finals in Idrottshallen, Victoriastadion and Sparbanken Skåne Arena. For fire safety reasons, luggage will not be allowed in the stands or public areas. As far as possible, please store your luggage in your bus/transport. We offer baggage storage for luggage and bags in the stands at the football pitch next to Sparbanken Skåne Arena. Follow the signs. All final participants are encouraged to leave their luggage here and then travel on to their halls.
All players in the finals may bring their sports bag into the hall you are playing in. The bag should be kept in the designated place in the hall, in the changing rooms or where your team is warming up. Not to be carried around. Please respect the instructions of the hall managers.

LOST ITEMS

Forgotten items from schools and sports halls will be brought to our Info desk in Sparbanken Skåne Arena on December 30. If you are missing something, please visit us there or send an e-mail to info@lundaspelen.com including a description of what you have lost. We will answer your e-mail starting from January 7. After 1 month all valuables will be transferred to the local police office lost and found.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ALCOHOL, DRUGS OR FIREWORKS

We would like to remind you that Lundaspelen Handball has a policy for alcohol, drugs, doping and tobacco (ANDT). The policy outlines the intentions and overall stance of Lundaspelen Handball as an organizer. All consumption of alcohol/drugs and the use of fireworks are prohibited during Lundaspelen. The competition management reserves the right to exclude teams where players violate these rules.

SPECIAL RULES

Lundaspelen does not allow overage players in any age group. Lundaspelen will give no exemptions and all players must be able to identify themselves upon control.
Handboll glue is only allowed in the age classes of 15-, 16- and 19 year-old. All teams must be extremely careful when using paste in places other than on the match floor. If teams are careless with handball paste use, a cleaning fee may be charged by the hall host.
We ask all teams to leave the sports hall and locker rooms in the same condition as you want to find it when you get there. Pick up after yourselves.
It is the responsibility of each team leader to read and understand the competition rules found on the website and convey this to their players.

The competition jury has the right to exclude any team that violates these rules.

SHOWER IN THE SPORTS HALLS

Remember that you must shower in the hall in which you have played a match. Unfortunately, there are no showers at the schools.

TRANSPORT INFORMATION

To get the most out of your stay in Lund, it is a good idea to plan your transport around Lund with a good margin. According to § 7 of the Competition Rules “All teams must be changed and ready at their playing field no later than 15 minutes before the start of the match (if a team is late, the tournament management must be contacted before a decision is made)”. It is your obligation to plan the transport to the hall with such a good margin that you can handle long delays.

LUND’S CITY BUSES (PUBLIC TRANSPORT)

For teams with cup passes who have booked travel passes (Resekort) travel by public transport (Skånetrafiken) is also included. The cup pass is the pass included when you book your school or Lundsapelen hotel reservation and the cup pass could also be purchased separately (available on-site). With this physical travel card, you travel for free within Lund and to any destination in the games on our local green buses, regional yellow buses, the local purple commuter train Pågatågen, the Öresundstrain and our tram. Your team will receive this physical travel card issued by Skånetrafiken upon check-in registration at the school accommodation/hotel.
Important- Always scan the QR code on the travel card in the scanner inside the bus, or show it for scanning upon check-ups the trains. You can find bus timetables on the Skånetrafiken website or in the Skånetrafiken app (AppStore. Google Play). https://www.skanetrafiken.se

Please note that the public transport are not only for Lundaspelen participants. It is important that you participants show the people of Lund how nice and friendly guests we have during Lundaspelen. The bus drivers may refuse you and your team if the bus is full but usually a new local bus will arrive within 10 minutes. All buses stop in the city centre at the stop “Lund C”. Here you can easily change to one of the other lines if necessary

When you arrive at LUND C
– If you need help with transport to accommodation outside Lund (Hagalid, Karstorp, Tolvåker), plan well in advance and contact transport@lundaspelen.com and we will certainly be able to help you.
– If you are travelling from Copenhagen by train, the ticket you bought in Copenhagen is valid throughout Lund. You can continue with this ticket from Lund C to your accommodation in Lund
– If you are travelling from within Sweden by train and need to get from Lund C to your accommodation, you will need your travel card. Contact us at info@lundaspelen.com in good time, to get info on how to get your physical travel card.

PARKING

If you travel in Lund with your own car or bus, it is important that you follow the signs on where parking is allowed. In Sweden, there are parking fees in almost every street or at parking lots. If you park in an unauthorized place, you will likely be fined or towed away. Parking is prohibited around Sparbanken Skåne Arena, but right next to it is the Arena Park parking garage, Arena Park at Stadsparken. Ask Lundaspelen staff for advice on where to park around the sports halls and schools. For safety reasons, cars mustn’t block escape routes.
Use the parking apps: Easy Park or Parkster or your mobile phone to park in any LKP parking lots. For EasyPark- use the code 4883, for a special Lundaspel discount (price 100:-/day or 450:- for 5 days).
